The Muffin Shop is a boutique bakery in my hometown of Marblehead, MA. It prides itself in being a locally owned, family-run business, and it's loved by my town because it has delicious muffins and pastries, and provides a warm, welcoming environment to customers. It is located right by the water, which gives it a unique coastal charm to the community, and to tourists visiting during the summer months.
The shop’s storefront bursts with color and personality, often featuring hand-painted window displays that reflect the seasons and local celebrations. But, despite its vibrant in-person presence, The Muffin Shop’s digital identity doesn’t fully capture the creativity and warmth it’s known for.
With this in mind, I set out to reimagine their brand identity to better reflect the bakery’s coastal character and inviting energy. The rebranding involved a full website redesign, including an updated color palette, typography, icon system, and brand pattern. My goal was to bring its funky, seaside vibe online by highlighting its unique treats, telling the story of its humble beginnings, and reinforcing its deep connection to the Marblehead community and beyond.
