The Ask

Develop an entire brand identity complete with logo design, promotional materials, social media collateral and other visual assets that reflect a cohesive and engaging concept for target audiences that boldly express themselves through clothing and music, and value unique shopping experiences.

The Challenge

Unite the themes of fashion and music in a fresh, compelling way while appealing to Gen Z and Millennial consumers. Maintain a sense of playfulness and nostalgia while building a brand that feels cohesive across print, web, and social media.

The Solution

Ensemble Consignment maintains visual consistency across mediums, and engages audiences through both print and motion design. Nostalgic textures, expressive typography, and thoughtful color choices to build a brand that feels both personal and vibrant.

The Software

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Canva

Ensemble consignment is a fictional brand that combines a consignment clothing boutique with a vintage record store, inspired by the vibrant, eclectic atmosphere of Provincetown, MA. Known for its quirky local shops and artistic community, Provincetown felt like the perfect setting for a concept that celebrates individuality, nostalgia, and self-expression. Ensemble is designed to serve both tourist shoppers and the local community, offering one-of-a-kind fashion pieces and donated records in a space that feels creative, light, and full of personality.

The name Ensemble was carefully chosen to reflect the dual nature of the brand—connecting both fashion and music. In fashion, a well-put-together outfit is often called an “ensemble,” while in music, a group performance is also referred to as an “ensemble.” This play on words became central to the brand’s identity and inspired a logo design where the “N” is replaced with a music note. I explored a mix of serif and sans-serif typefaces to create a visual balance between boldness and playfulness.

I developed a full visual identity system for Ensemble, including a comprehensive color palette, logo explorations, custom iconography, and a set of promotional posters announcing the hypothetical grand opening. The posters experiment with bold typography, textures, and nostalgic design cues that reflect the emotional experience of shopping at a curated consignment store.

Collateral pieces—including a set of three promotional posters, tote bag mockups, and animated Instagram Reels—bring the brand to life with energy, warmth, and a sense of nostalgia. The posters announce the hypothetical grand opening of the store, while the tote bags and social media content extend the brand into both physical and digital spaces. To strengthen Ensemble’s digital presence, I designed animated Instagram Reels that feature bubble lettering, vibrant color schemes, and layered textures. These short-form videos were crafted to capture attention, build brand recognition, and resonate with Gen Z and Millennial audiences who value bold self-expression and visually driven storytelling.

A central theme across all materials was my focus on expressive typography and how it can be manipulated to convey emotion, personality, and purpose.
